Social Responsibility

Childline Call Tracking System

Cybicom proudly supports Childline by means of computer donations and the development of custom software which enables the counsellors to input information while talking to the children. The purpose of the system is to capture and track calls across the various call types. This is achieved by providing a central database that can be shared by various users.

The system is made up of the following sections:
  • Responsive calls - Case details containing incident description and nature of call with the ability to report to other services as well as provide case feedback, want to talk and test call functionality.
  • Non Responsive calls - Includes silent calls, hang ups and wrong numbers.
  • Manage -Allows the manager the ability to close and re-open cases.
  • Reporting - Various reports are set up for different conditions.
  • Search facilities - Recall Case and View All Cases.

Build-A-Home Project

As part of our social responsibility Cybicom started a "Build-A-Home" project where we planned to build homes for people less fortunate than ourselves. Cybicom has built two houses.

Anthony Dawson-Pars Equestrian

Before he was six months old, Anthony was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Before he was two and before he could walk Anthony’s mother heard of Hippotherapy - using horses to improve the quality of life for people with disability. Horses have been the single most profound influencing part of Anthony’s life physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.

Anthony’s latest achievements:
He was placed 9th overall this year at Hartpury’s Festival of International Dressage (FEI CPEDI3*), Great Britain, and in addition was awarded “Best Rider under the age of 21 years” and “Highest Scoring Foreign Rider on a Borrowed Horse” awards.

Anthony also won the South African Para Dressage Grade II Individual Championships of 2011, on Ardmore Ceramics' Remus B and was placed 3rd on Cybicom's Flaming Gun.

Dylan Vogt

Dylan Vogt is currently ranked the number 1 under 19 sport climber in the country and 14th in South Africa overall amongst all ages. He is 1 of 8 climbers that has been selected as part of the very first climbing team from South Africa (and Africa) to compete in the World Youth Championships in Imst , Austria in August 2011. The SA Youth Climbing team has no sponsorship so it is up to them as individuals to raise their own sponsorship. Cybicom is proud to be sponsoring Dylan in this event.

Small Enterprises

Cybicom also believes in boosting and supporting small to medium enterprises, within and outside of our supply chain. We recognise that small businesses are not only important contributors to the national economy but also help create much needed employment within the country. Over the past year, we have provided financial and Business support to Divi’s Digital.

Previously Disadvantaged Learners

Cybicom has made various donations for children who are in need of school fees, computers and other learning equipment as part of their contribution to the upliftment of less fortunate learners.
